Williams Knife Co. is a CCASC Corporate Sponsor

Written by Chris on 01/26/12

We’re one of the corporate sponsors for the Coastal Conservation Association South Carolina (CCASC) this year. In fact, we were named the ‘official knife maker of CCASC’. Yes! If you’re reading this blog you probably already know that CCA is an organization of state chapters, made up of passionate recreational fisherman who are interested in conservation issues.

According to the CCA website,

“The outdoor sports enthusiasts and conservationists who make up the organization recognize that only a concerted, on-going effort of major proportions will save the natural resources of our coastal waters from certain depletion or destruction. They are dedicated to preventing that from happening through programs of education, legislation and restoration.”

Now that’s something Williams Knife Co. can get behind!

CCA has loads of success stories to their credit. Some of the things they’ve done include helping the effort to stop the devastating netting of redfish in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and the overfishing of kingfish. Additionally, they were instrumental in obtaining a Federal Management Plan for Atlantic billfish and they’ve worked hard on the recovery of striped bass and the removal of destructive fishing gear.

We could list pages of CCA accomplishments but, through all of their activities, their objective remains constant – to first protect the resource and then improve the current and future fishing for everyone.

Being a CCA South Carolina corporate sponsor is a big deal for us. We’re proud to be associated with them and it’s an honor to be listed among companies we admire like Charleston Angler, Scout Boats and Barron’s Outfitters.
